Santana’s coming out storyline in Season 2 was deeply moving and authentic. There was room in the story not just for Santana’s struggle to accept her realisations about her sexuality and her love for Brittany, but for Brittany’s own issues in having feelings for two people at the same time and her desire to help Santana be true to herself.

Hard to believe, then, that the culmination of the beautiful story that was once uniquely theirs used Santana to prop up the glee club’s heroic straight male lead and excluded Brittany entirely.
